Lentil ragout

Serves 6

Tip: It’s seemingly you’ll per chance well expend lentils of any coloration in this ragout. On the opposite hand, crimson lentils give the dish a moving coloration.

  1. Add 1 teaspoon olive oil.
  2. Add 1 cup onions.
  3. Saute for 3 minutes.
  4. Add 6 medium tomatoes.
  5. Saute for 3 minutes, stirring continually.
  6. Add 5 cups water.
  7. Add 1 cup raw crimson lentils.
  8. Cook for 20 minutes till most of water is absorbed.
  9. Add 4 cloves garlic.
  10. Add 1 teaspoon kosher salt.
  11. Add 1/4 teaspoon floor shaded pepper.
  12. Jog in 1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme.
