Peacock is packing up for The Burbs.
The NBCUniversal streamer has given a straight-to-sequence reveal for a comedic thriller sequence in accordance with the 1989 Tom Hanks-Carrie Fisher movie of the same title. Keke Palmer is attached to star in The Burbs, which counts Brian Grazer and Seth MacFarlane amongst its govt producers. Grazer and Ron Howard’s Imagine Leisure produced the film.
Palmer will play half of a young married couple who return to the husband’s childhood home. Their world is upended when unusual neighbors switch in around the corner, bringing feeble secrets and ways of the cul-de-sac to gentle, and unusual lethal threats atomize the semblance of their silent runt neighborhood.
Directed by Joe Dante and written by Dana Olsen, The Burbs got so-so reviews from critics when it became once launched in February 1989, though it opened at No. 1 on the box build of enterprise. It has since become one thing of a cult licensed, nonetheless.
Celeste Hughley (Palm Royale, Dead to Me) is writing the sequence, which comes from New Studio Neighborhood’s UCP. Hughley will govt create with Grazer, Kristen Zolner and Natalie Berkus for Imagine; MacFarlane, Erica Huggins and Aimee Carlson for Fuzzy Door Productions (which has an overall deal at UCP); and Palmer. Olsen is a co-exec producer.
Fuzzy Door additionally produces Ted, the sequence in accordance with MacFarlane’s movie a few particular person and his talking teddy maintain.
